Patchwork was popular fashion in the 1970's, and is associated with bohemian free-spirited hippies. It's also popular among the country/bluegrass crowd, and really, anyone who loves the absolute one-of-a-kind look patchwork provides. You KNOW you're the only one wearing your patchwork dress at the party. There can be only one.
